Managed by the Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Department, Okeeheelee Park has numerous amenities, including ball fields, walking paths, biking trails, playgrounds, a disc golf course, and more.

Visitors can also check out the nearby Okeeheelee Nature Center, which has a live animal exhibit hall and nature trails where you’ll be able to spot area wildlife such as white-tailed deer and gopher tortoises.

Rapids Water Park

If your kids are craving for a wet and wild adventure, Rapids Water Park in Riviera Beach is a short 15-minute drive away from West Palm Beach.

The water park features dozens of water slides and rides that are guaranteed to provide an exhilarating experience as you zoom across sudden drops, tunnels, and 70-foot-high water slides.

Lighthouse Cove Adventure Golf

Treat your kids to a fun day of mini golf by heading to Lighthouse Cove Adventure Golf, located just 30 minutes away from West Palm Beach.

Visitors will be able to choose between two fun mini golf courses, each featuring 18 holes. Paradise Falls is a winding course with hills and water features, providing plenty of variety in every hole. Lost Lagoon treats golfers to an unforgettable round of mini golf as the course covers undulating terrain and winds through various caves and tunnels. There’s also a tropical aquarium section which features sharks and numerous tropical fish.

Enjoy a relaxing nature trip by heading to Singer Island, located around 15 minutes away from West Palm Beach. You can enjoy a nice picnic at the promenade, build sand castles, or collect seashells after high tide. Singer Island Beach is the perfect spot if you want to enjoy a relaxing day at the beach, as it doesn’t attract large crowds.

Manatee Lagoon

The little ones will surely get a kick out of meeting one of the most unique creatures on the planet – the manatee! At the Manatee Lagoon, you’ll be able to see them in their natural environment, as the manatees gather in the center’s warm water outflows during cold weather. Visitors can learn more about the manatee through interactive hands-on exhibits, or view them up close at the observation decks.

Manatee Lagoon also hosts a variety of family-friendly activities throughout the year, such as yoga classes on the observation deck, kids’ art classes, storytelling sessions and craft workshops for toddlers, and other educational programs.

McCarthy’s Wildlife Sanctuary

McCarthy’s Wildlife Sanctuary treats hundreds of sick and injured wildlife animals every year before releasing them back into the wild. The sanctuary features facilities designed for treating and aiding the recovery of injured, rescued, and orphaned wild animals in order to get them back to full health during their eventual release back to the wild.

To support the sanctuary, visitors can get a glimpse of many native animals such as bobcats, foxes, hawks, owls, pelicans, Sandhill cranes, and more that are currently being treated.
